Description
UCLA's Marina Aquatic Center and Boathouse develops in direct relation to the site. SHIP serves as a destination, housing and showcasing the confluence activities. The site is positioned as an anchor point to Marvin Braude Bike Trail. Due to unfortunate planning, the current condition of circulation doesn't provide enough walking space to the pedestrian, driving space to the drivers, and biking space to the bicyclists. First, the site offsets in to make way for pedestrian walkway and wider driveway to distinguish proper paths for specific users. Second, MAC and Boathouse are positioned facing Marina Del Rey due to its direct adjacency. Third, a public platform is implemented allowing users to occupy the roof, where provide 360 degrees view of the city, the oceans, and the activities.
